Letter from Secretary-General
Honourable delegates, esteemed chairs, and prestigious advisors,

On behalf of St. Paul’s School, it is with great pleasure that I welcome you to SPsMUN 2026! February 27th and 28th promise to be days filled with rewarding debates, lasting friendships, and meaningful personal growth. The leadership team is committed to ensuring that each of you feels at home at St. Paul’s, and finds in this conference an invaluable opportunity to refine your public speaking, negotiation, and critical thinking skills.
We envision this conference as a way for delegates to experience the world of international relations and diplomacy while igniting or strengthening a passion for the ideals of MUN. We aim to create an environment where all delegates feel empowered to step out of their comfort zone and seize this opportunity, whether you are a first-time delegate or seasoned in the MUN world. By the time I strike the gavel to bring this conference to a close on Saturday afternoon, I am confident that each of you will leave not only as a better delegate but as a more conscious global citizen.
This year’s conference theme is “Success is not final, failure is not fatal; it is the courage to continue that counts”, emphasizing the importance of resilience, one of the core St. Paul’s values. Whether you are addressing key geopolitical problems or facing your own personal challenges, perseverance and bravery are imperative and commendable traits. The theme is a reminder that progress is not always linear, and defeat is only definitive if you let it be. I urge you to take the spirit of courage and resilience not just to the conference but beyond.
The Secretariat is thrilled to offer an inclusive and dynamic environment across our ten committees, each of which have been carefully designed to foster meaningful discussions. We are eager to witness your creativity, passion, and dedication as you navigate the intricacies of international relations and policymaking.
As Secretary General, I encourage you to make the most of these two days. Engage deeply, listen actively, and don’t hesitate to step outside your comfort zone. Finally, should you have any questions or concerns leading up to or during the conference, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at [email protected]. The Secretariat is here to support you in every way possible, and we are committed to ensuring that your SPsMUN experience is nothing short of extraordinary.

Sincerely,
Ana Beatriz Bauab Jabur
Secretary-General
